Who is Chase P. Davies?
Chase is an author by hobby, and an application security engineer by profession.
Chase has been writing science fiction and fantasy since he was a teenager. He started getting feedback by sharing his writing with friends on 3.5" floppy disks. Since then, he has completed writing 3 novels (2 of them are shelved due to being too low quality for human consumption), and written a large number of short stories. He has taken several breaks from writing over the years, but always gets pulled back in by the allure of exploring the fantastic and the unknown.
Application Security / Technology
When his family got their first home computer when Chase was 8, it was love at first sight. He spent much of his free time just poking at the settings of the computer, occasionally to the shagrin of his father, who had to remedy anything Chase messed up. In college, he instantly knew he wanted to study Computer Science, working as a software engineer on the side. He sidetracked into Infromation Technology, where he discovered Cybersecurity. Given his propensity for trying to work the system and find a way around restrictions (hypothetically, of course), combining his love for computers and ethical hacking seemed like a match made in heaven. Chase soon found his way into Application Security, where he could be involved with both coding and security.
Chase also has inattentive-type ADHD, and is an outspoken advocate for other people with ADHD. He feels it is important that neurodivergent brains such as his own are understood and appreciated. ADHD hasn't stopped Chase from having a meaningful career, and in many ways, he feels it can be an asset! Feel free to reach out to him if you have questions or want to know more about his experience with ADHD.
